Today, I wanted to share with you our mantels, decorated for Fall! Alright, so I realize Fall is a month in here, and many are maybe so over it. But you know….there is two months more of the Fall season to go, you know! (Can you even believe it is the Fall season until December 20th?) Yes, in the bloggers’/crafters’ world, I could be a little late with this. But that’s OK! I figure, you can pin it for some ideas on Pinterest for next year! Or find a little inspiration in it for your Thanksgiving mantels. Regardless, I am really enjoying the mantels I put together for our home decor and for my family, and I hope you enjoy seeing them as well.… Read More
Good gosh! Is it me, or has this been a long. time. coming?
I am THRILLED to say, the art studio is DONE!! Construction and carpentry-wise, anyway. I’m sure we’ll have a few more organization units to install, but I’ll figure out just what I need in the process of moving in with all of my stuff!
Before you scroll down and see, you may want to see the previous states of progress, to really appreciate all it is now. It’s still just a little bit hard to show you because….I’m afraid you all just might be bored by it! It’s the reason I haven’t shared more of the progress along the way. I’m the type who has the whole finished version in my head along the way, and so knowing where it’s going….anything prior to that is somehow……less than. But, I did give you a few couple of progress updates as you know!… Read More
Here we are in May, and I am finally giving you all a progress update on the building of our grand craft/art studio. It was back in January when we first revealed this big and exciting home project of building a custom studio, which has been a dream of mine, ever since I was a little girl. There is no doubt that this creative space will get a whole lot of use. In fact, I can easily see it becoming the most occupied room, in the whole house, by our whole family. I am always going at craft or art projects, and Michael’s design, cutting and lettering prepping work space will be in here too.… Read More
I have had a childhood dream, that has never faded away. Not even with the passing of decades of years, this dream has lived through.
Well, that childhood dream, is about to come true for me.
♥ I am getting a completely customized art studio! ♥
It’s in-home, and already in the works. I thought I would take photos of the progress, in case some of you might enjoy watching it come to life along the way.
I was in kindergarten, when I decided I was going to be an artist when I grew up.
That plan never waivered all through my schooling years. As a kid, I used to see little empty shops with real estate signs around town, and dream of what it would be like, to have my own studio space in there.… Read More
The year of 2012 is coming to a close, and my-my-my, what an amazing and unpredictable year it has been for us! It truly taught us to have faith, and hold on for the ride! We are way excited for the coming new year of 2013, because we have some big (huge!) and exciting projects that we will be doing, documenting, and sharing, with you! In fact, many. But before we get to all of that, we thought it would be fun to just reflect on this past year, for which we are so grateful for. Both in regards to the blog, and ‘The Big Picture’ of our day to day family life. And THEN, have a little countdown of our most popular projects of the past year.… Read More
We’ve had this blog going for over four and a half years now. Some of you have been following from the beginning, some of you joined us somewhere in the middle along the way, and some of you are new friends. It’s been slow-growing! The number of our readers have probably grown more than ever this year, and that’s likely because I (Laura) have put more time into it.
No matter when you happened to join us, we want you to know we truly appreciate every one of you. For your friendships, your visits, your comments, your sharing, and your encouragement. We just love creating, all kinds of things as you know. It’s in our blood. But being able to share it with you all, adds a whole new element of joy to it, for us. Especially when any one of you find your own self inspired, and get doing some creating of your own!… Read More
Ever since I can remember, I have been captivated by the vision of ferris wheels. In my adult years as a photographer, it has been a little heart’s desire of mine to get an amazing shot, of a ferris wheel.
So, in the third week of September when the kids and I were driving along the highway towards Buzzards Bay one beautiful day, and spotted a grand ferris wheel over the trees, we went on a mission to find our way to it! And that we did. As it turns out, they were setting up for the annual Scallop Festival that weekend. We hadn’t been in years, so we promptly put that on our agenda! Come that Sunday after church, it was another beautiful day, and a wonderful family time together.… Read More
I told you Part II was coming! And you may be excited, or perhaps disgruntled to know, that as it turns out . . . . . .there is a Part III too. Well, it was a big day, and I took a lot of photos of so many special moments. (If you missed it, you can find Part I here.) But listen, here’s the truth of it all: You know I (we) love to share with you our crafting ideas, house projects, decor, recipes, and all of that. But our kids . . . . . . They are our greatest creation of all!… Read More

However, for the sake of those who also like to follow our family’s more personal antics, for this post and a Part II coming up, we are giving a peek via (many) photos into the day of our triplet’s 10th birthday. It was a day jam packed with fun for sure, from morning until bedtime! As the Mama of these 3 babes, I just wanted to really enjoy watching them have fun all day, and casually get a lot of photos of them being 10! Here just some of them from the first part of their day.… Read More
