What a fun shoot this was in my in-home studio, with my own kids and our newly-hatched baby colored chicks!
For those of you visiting this section of the blog first, this post is a continuation of a science project we did, which is detailed over in the Home Schooling section of this blog, when we incubated, colored and hatched baby chicks! Now you can see how nice my kids clean up, from their jammies and morning bed-heads, too! 🙂
Even though we weren’t keeping them, the kids did name the chicks.
Left to Right: the brown rooster, “De Colores” (anyone familiar with that term?). The green chick is “Ca$h”. (I loved that name.) The Yellow chick is “Sunshine”. The Pink chick is “Lipstick”.
{A} with her chick, Sunshine…..
(“Dirty Pants.” lol)
{S} with his chick, Ca$h…..
Are you ready for a good laugh??………..

{S} had a sense something just happened in his hand. The expression on his face…..it makes us laugh hysterically every time I see it. Even all these years later!!
(Give me a moment. Recovering here. O.K.)
{J} with his rooster, De Colores.
2 cool dudes. Check out their stance. I loved this one too!
{O} with her chick, Lipstick…..
She wanted few more photos, in her beautiful Easter dress….
The End.
DISCLAIMER: There were no chicks harmed in this photo shoot with small children! Nor was there any hard to the chicks in coloring them. The chicks stayed with us for about 1-2 weeks, as we watched them lose their colored fuzz, and grow in their regular feathers. We said a long goodbye, and then they went to a farm, to live happily every after.
What an awesome idea, GREAT names and super cute pics!!
Laura the pics of the chicks with the kids is awesome…..i want one so bad!!! plz?
Oh my goodness Laura, I remember these photos! The kids looks so small and A-DORABLE!! I love all of your new posts and have to come back to leave more comments but I LOVE these precious photos!
@Teri – Consider the <3 passed on!!
@momto5minnies - I'm glad you are enjoying these! You all make me glad I dug these up and went through he trouble of sharing them, (and trying to remember all of the details from 3 years ago! lol). You all made it worth it in b0th sections.
I’ve got to share these photos and the post about the whole incubation thing with my daughters. So, SO NEAT!!!!!
GReat photos BTW!
Ack… I’m back looking again. I’ll never get anything done today. Not a bad way to spend a day though. Not complaining. 🙂
Oh. my. gosh. I just want to come and squeeze and hug and cuddle and tickle every. single. one. of. you! (not the chicks though).
This post has an off-the-charts cuteness factor! Like 4 bazillion cuteness points (a bazillion each).
Ok, consider your cheeks pinched and kissed from Aunt TT and have your mama give you a big, way too tight, hug from me.
