Wild Thing….You-Make-My-Heart-Sing.

BARTERING, can be a beautiful, beautiful thing.

Just look what I struck a deal for…..

How’s THAT for a WILD chair??

Sit and relax for a minute, and I’ll tell you the tale of how it became m-i-n-e.

I got it from my friend, Michelle, owner of Stitch A Wish Designs. (This is her blog, and this is her web site. )  Michelle is an amazing boutique-style designer of all kinds of things, and I have featured her and her work, here on my blog  before. Well, I had learned while reading her blog, that she had gotten a Victorian-style sofa at this great little antique store nearby, called the Antique Chapel, which I frequent myself.   But with the sofa she really wanted, came 2 chairs she had to take also.  This chair above, was a nasty mess.  A dusty pink, extremely worn velvet, that was filthy too.  Imagine.  (Or see Michelle’s blog posts a few pages back, for all of the gory-to-glory photos….later.  There’s a different post on each of her 3 pieces she took, so you’ll have to look through them.) Well, Michelle turned the chair into what you see above.  I believe this piece was only her 2nd re-upholstery project, ever, (the sofa being her first), but it was sure good enough for me.… Read More

Brittany / A Senior, Graduated.

Meet Brittany.

Brittany already graduated from high school this past spring.  She is going for nursing too!  (I’ve had a few nurses-to-be in the last couple of years.)  Her mom is a nurse.  Brittany called me too late to book in time to get a year book photo from me too, but she didn’t care.  She really just wanted to work with me,  to get a collection of photos of her as a senior, (so important, I can’t say it enough…), and didn’t care when or how I could fit her in!

Well…..O.K.!  That works for me!

These are the kind of people I love to work with.  The ones who want to hire me for my style of work.  So I made it work for her, and we actually worked together for 3 photo shoots, over the period of 3 seasons!… Read More

Blaire – A Senior

There is always collectively so much work to share here in this section, between Michael and I, and yet it has ultimately become the most neglected area of the blog. I know I have opted many times, to post in the other sections as an alternative, and I’ve figured out why.

Baby Chicks and Kids / Studio Photo Shoot

For those of you visiting this section of the blog first, this post is a continuation of a science project we did, which is detailed over in the Home Schooling section of this blog, when we incubated, colored and hatched baby chicks!

Even though we weren’t keeping them, the kids did name the chicks.

Left to Right:  the brown rooster, “De Colores” (anyone familiar with that term?). The  green chick is “Ca$h”.  (I loved that name.) The Yellow chick is “Sunshine” The Pink chick is  Lipstick”.

{A} with her chick, Sunshine…..

(“Dirty Pants.”  lol)

{S} with his chick, Ca$h…..… Read More
