Double-Sided, No Sew Fleece Blanket

The kids and I were recently brainstorming for ideas, to put together a very special package for a certain little boy.  It was very special circumstances, that called us to put something together very special, just for him. I wanted to share with you all this idea our oldest, {A}, came up with:  Making a no-sew fleece blanket for him.

It was the perfect idea, with the circumstances for this little boy.

The kids had received fleece blankets like this before, as gifts, and as single layer blankets.  But I wanted to see if we could make a double-sided blanket, so that it would have a different pattern on each side.Read More

Business Feature: Stitch A Wish Designs / Give-Away

If you think you’ve heard of Stitch A Wish Designs before, you probably have, right here on this blog.  I have mentioned my friend Michelle, the designer and owner of SWD, before, and have even done this featured blog post on her as well before too.

But, there is always much to share about her, and the beautiful things she makes!  She is always re-inventing the wheel, or coming up with new cool or beautiful things all her own, and I’m always so impressed,  I just need to let everyone know.    Not only because her creations are beautiful, and high quality, but because her pricing is reasonable, and we all look good carrying (or wearing) her stuff.  She offers a wide variety of bags for women and kids, tutus, hand-embroidered items, and specialty gifts.  I have done a lot of photography for Michelle’s work.  Partly because she is my friend, but also because I believe in what she is selling!  I believe in HER.  Her heart is in everything she makes, and her business is full of compassion and giving, always.… Read More

Do You Know….

….They are in demand!

People are loving the List chalkboards, and Michael has been filling the orders, and shipping them out.

If you missed it, a couple of posts back, here in The Homestead section, we blogged about a Prayer List chalkboard Michael had made for our home, after another little brainstorm I had.  Scroll down to the earlier post  if you want to catch the whole story, but the update is, people have been contacting us, and wanting to custom order one for their own home, or as a gift.

They don’t need to be marked as Prayer Lists, but that is all we have been selling so far.  (Which is nice!) But they can also be ordered as a To Do List, Grocery List, Remember List, Notes, your family name…..anything you want!… Read More

Un-Expectations

I’ve said it a zillion times before, and at least 1/2 zillion on this blog:  I believe, without question, that God gives every one of us gifts.  And I believe, without question, that in discovering those gifts, one is receiving a direct message from God > ‘Use them in my Name. Use them, to serve Me, by serving my children.’

I think we all know, or most of us anyway, when God is calling us to serve Him, by serving others.  It’s a feeling inside. For me, it’s not something I ponder, or decide, if it is indeed a situation I am called to serve.  I just know, it is.  Like a whisper of the heart, that is God’s unspoken words.  There is sometimes  joy, sometimes not much, but always peace, in serving Him through others.   And it’s enough for me, to work by His side.  For I know the love and healing He will bring those who need Him, and those who turn to Him.  It’s more than enough, for me.… Read More
