Pumpkin Shaped Cookies

It’s the first day of November, and we’re still riding high on the beauty of Autumn all around us! I think we’ve done more baking than ever this year as well.  I had an idea about trying to make some pumpkin shaped cookies, using a dough recipe I already had, and they came out so great!  These are beautiful cookies to have around on Thanksgiving, or anytime during the pumpkin/Autumn season, and they were fun to make, too.  It may seem like a lot of steps, but it is easy, and the dough recipe itself is very useful!

The dough is the same recipe from my God-Mother’s Italian cookies, found here in a post called Cookie Love.  It’s a very I am going to give you the recipe right here as well, but you really can see how it is made at the other post.  *Please note; you can mix the ingredients to make dough with a Kitchen Aid Mixer, but we did not have one at the time of the other post, so we did it by hand.… Read More

Valentine Ladybug Mint Cookies

These adorable Ladybug Cookies I came up with, come right in time for Valentine’s Day, and I promise you, they couldn’t be easier to make! (There’s not even baking involved!) I think you are going to love what they are made with, too!  (You know…besides LOVE.)  I’m talking ingredients.  These cookies are also a sweet idea for a little girl’s birthday party, or to send in with your kids to school, to share with their class.  You’ll look so clever. (You don’t have to tell a soul it was my idea. ; )

Does the word fondant scare you?  Ever heard of the stuff?Read More

A good friend of ours baked our family these biscottis, and we enjoyed them so much, we asked him for the recipe. Political Cookies

We have a de-LICIOUS roll recipe coming right up, submitted by a regular and loved blog reader, Paula.  But first, we just wanted to share with you some of our oldest daughter, {A}’s,  creative cookies she made last week.  (She is an ambitious baker in the making, if you don’t know.)

{A} has a very strong interest in the Kennedy Family, and has  as of late, been studying their family history in great depth.  That’s  not to say she is a fan of all of them. ; )  But, she does like who Robert F. Kennedy was.  So much so, that she made sugar cookies for his birthday on Friday, November 20th.   She thought it was a great excuse to practice her piping skills.… Read More

Teddy Graham Sandwich Cookies

Hi blog friends!  This is {A} this time.   Mama said she has noticed we haven’t blogged any recipes of ‘real food’ in awhile, and it’s looking like we’ve been on a ‘sweets kick’ lately, so she said to let you know we’ll have some meal-related type recipes coming up soon. She just needs to think of some.  But today, I wanted to share this cookie recipe I came up with on my own.  Everyone in my family loved them when I made them, so I hope if you make them, you do too.

When we got home, we had our simple Easter dinner.

This is my plate, below.  As you can see, I despise carrots, and I love asparagus.… Read More

Cookie Love

1header

Have you ever seen cookies like these?  They are called Italian Cookies, and maybe they are ordinary to you. But the very thought or sight of them, has always made my heart simply swell.

My Godmother has made these cookies for me, all of my life.  I think she makes them a lot. She may even be known for them in the lives of many people who are in her life. But it doesn’t matter.  Whenever she made them for ME, it always felt like such a  gift of her love for me.

My Godparents are AMAZING people. Not just to me, but to anyone who knows them.  They are the essence of unshakable faith,  completely selfless sacrifice, sincere compassion, and always a lot of very unconditional love.  As Godparents, they always gave all of those gifts to me.… Read More

Rumpledoodles

Heffalump Rumpledoodles.  These things are quite possibly the tastiest little crumpets on the face of the earth!

We first heard of Rumpledoodles when the little one’s Auntie L gave them this charming Winnie the Pooh DVD movie titled Pooh’s Heffalump Movie, for their 3rd birthday.  In the movie, the Hundred Acre Wood gang decide to go out and hunt the much feared, and never-seen Heffalumps they have been hearing out in the woods.  Roo went off on his own hunt, and has a run-in with a baby Heffalump, when he is suddenly ‘tagged you’re it!’.  The adorable little Heffalump, named “Lumpy”, and Little Roo
