Blessed, Blessed, Blessed – Our Triplets Turn 10!

Today, on this last day of August, we happily celebrate our triplets 10th birthdays.

JackMichael, Olivia Faith & Shane Jacob.

Ten years ago today, they doubled the size of our family, multiplied the love in our hearts, and became three of the greatest blessings we have ever known. … Read More

{A} is 14 / A Belated Birthday Photo Post

July always seems to get away from me!  I am having deja-vous, about blogging our oldest daughter’s birthday last year, quite after the facts.  But, it’s alright really, because these types of family-related blog posts I generally just put together for the sake of our own recorded family history, and if anyone else is interested, so be it.  So in brief, here is a glimpse into our day celebrating our oldest child’s birthday.

Her birthday is the 5th, and with the 4th making for a long weekend this year, we had an extra-extra long weekend.  All of the typical 4th of July celebrations & activities, and then her birthday too.Read More

There was more than a smile, in THIS box!

The other day, I got the surprise-of-my-life.  The kind that left me in a daze for the rest of the day.  And into the next day.  OK, seriously……I’m still kind of in a daze about it.  I don’t even know where to start with this little story.  I feel speechless, and yet, you and I both know this post will probably end up ridiculously long, once the words start flowing.

<Deep breathe.>  So, many of you know I had a birthday last Sunday.  My birthday to me is really no big deal, and never has been.  But my family always makes me feel special, and we always spend any of our birthdays together all day, doing something fun or enjoyable.  We did that, and they were all so sweet.  I had a beautiful day with them.… Read More

Heading Home from Martha's Vineyard (Ferry at Sunset!)

Finally wrapping up the 3 kiddo’s birthday posts here!  But I had to share with you all the gorgeous scenery on our ferry ride home, from Oak Bluffs back to Falmouth.  It was dusk, and it couldn’t have been more beautiful.

We did get to the ferry stop in plenty of time, and made me realize I probably could have chewed my Fettuccine Alfredo a little better, after all.  But we just didn’t know how long it would take us to get back by foot.  So a chew or 2, and then letting it just slide down, is pretty much what I did.Read More

They 8, and 8, and 8…

As many of you know, our trio babies had yet another birthday at the end of August, and they turned 8.

EIGHT!!

I really wish they would knock it off.

You know.  The whole growing and growing and getting another year older thing.

I think it’s the food?

They eat a lot!! More than me. They love to eat. And eat. And eat.

And then they get bigger, and older, and smarter.

It seems to be a phenomenon of some sort.

I just wish they would stay little babies.

But, we always love a reason to celebrate!

And x3 is even better!Read More

{A}'s 13th Birthday / 4th of July Weekend / Final Part at CatholicTV

Let me start with this *disclaimer:   *The camera {A} got for her birthday turns out to be the amazing little point and shoot I expected it to be.  However, this post contains photos from the very first day we used it > without having any real chance to get to know the little machine, or read the directions of the wide range of operational options.   Therefore, some of these photos are not in the least, technically sound enough for me by a far cry.  But I lay my pride down (it’s really getting easier as I move up in age, here!…), and use these photos in this post anyway, for the sake of sharing with you this memorable and special day for {A}.Read More

{A}'s 13th Birthday/4th of July Weekend/Part III

By the time {A}’s birthday came, which was following the later part of the long 4th of July weekend, we were on a partying roll.   Per tradition in our family, the birthday person gets to choose what they’d like to do as a family, within reason.  {A} had a special wish indeed this year, but it needed to wait until the following day.  THAT exciting event, ultimately with a couple surprises in store for us, will be the next post in this section.  (You don’t want to miss it!) So meanwhile, we spent her actual birthday at home hanging out most of the day, which was very relaxing and enjoyable.… Read More

Let Us Rejoice and Be Glad…

{JM, O & S} sure are!  This day, that they have waited for for so long, finally arrived! I promise, this is the last of the First Holy Communion posts – along with the Vittles post up right now.  We’re hoping someone, somewhere, is still interested, while we indulge in posting about this happy occasion one more time.  Anyway, I wasn’t going to take photos of them actually receiving for the first time, because it just didn’t seem right.  But….the other parents were told it was alright, as long as the photos were taken from their seats. So, I decided to do so too, not wanting to regret passing up the opportunity!  Even though my angle was awful!… Read More

PaRtY aNiMaLs!!!

New Year’s Eve was a GOOD TIME at our house!!

We were ready to rock in 2010!!

We went to 4:00 mass to start, because the next day was a Holy Day of Obligation for us.  It was a really great mass, with a great homily, so that was a great start to our whole night.

When we got home, we started cooking and prepping our party food for the night!

The menu included buffalo chicken, pineapple wrapped in bacon, stuffed mushrooms, and deviled eggs, to start.

Later on we had more snack kind of stuff, and some party punch with sherbet ice cream in it.… Read More

Hallowtide: Part 1 – Halloween

This is the beginning of our belated posts on Hallowtide: 1)  Halloween  (All Hallow’s Eve), 2) All Saint’s Day and 3) All Soul’s Day.

Hallowtide is always a festive event in our family.  We love this time of year, and very much enjoy our traditions, which I suppose differs a little bit from the vast majority.  I think we have a nice balance though.   We have fun with ‘Halloween’ and the silliness/just for fun that comes with that, and also giving attention to the Catholic roots of ‘Halloween’, and how it all began. Thus, our more extended focus on the 3 days of Hallowtide.… Read More

We hope you had a lovely Mother’s Day too!

Please share with us a little about your special day!

Edited to Add:  I have had a realization, from a forum that I visit, that not all husbands /children/families, can be thoughtful on such days as these.  Not every family does things the same way, either. So with that being said, I would just like to say that I hope & pray every one of you mothers felt the love and honor from your loved ones, on this Mother’s Day.  If your day was less than you hoped, know that you truly are worthy of all you wished it was, in your heart.Read More

May Basket Deliveries! – SO FUN!

header

There was no schooling on our agenda today – just delivering our May Day Baskets, and the kids could not have been more excited!  But, first, I had to have some of my own fun, taking just a few more photos, as detailed memories.

Ok, now I was ready. So next the kids loudly debated about which basket was ‘theirs’, based on the tag they made, and who was going to who’s door, ringing the doorbell, and running for their life.   Once that was settled, they were very eagerly ready to go!  But you know I’m getting a photo of them first, and they know it too.… Read More
