Just Something That Makes Me Smile.

When I saw these swans out in the water one stunning autumn day, it really made me smile….

Taking photos is about making memories last, and don’t we all want to most remember the things that make us smile?  I’ve had this photo in my drive for a couple of years now, and although I am just sharing it with you all today, seeing these swans, bottoms- up, has probably made me smile the 100+ times I’ve come across it. I hope it works for you too!

My portrait photography business is always a little crazy this time of year for me, as much as I try to prevent too much going on at once.  Of course, that’s on top of my greatest (and most valued) responsibilities in my life.  I’ve also been quite preoccupied planning a most rewarding 2012!  It’s involved some hard and complicated decisions, and technical puzzles, but it’s exciting for all of the hope it brings as well. I’m just looking forward to having it all of the details sorted out.  Let’s hope that is soon!

Meanwhile, Thanksgiving is behind us (we hope yours was as wonderful as ours!), and Advent is upon us! May you all embrace this season, with the joyful anticipation for the celebration of the birth of Christ, and experience a peace within, that only the most well-placed hearts, can hold.

Are you feeling the Christmas spirit yet?  Are you making prayerful and hopeful plans for the coming new year?

We actually didn’t go either, I had some stuff to do in Boston, work for Beacon Hill Financial. Theres always tons of other stuff they do. Have you ever been to the Our lady of La Salette shrine in Attleboro?

    • Yes, Josh, we’ve been to La Salette many times! In fact, until a couple of years ago, we went every single year, on New year’s Day. My mother loved that place, and it’s her birthday. We would go to walk around and look at all of the lights, and also go to Penance & Mass. Then they seemed to stop offering Penance on New Year’s Day. Last time we were there, I was determined to take photos, even though it was sub-zero temps. I swear, I thought I was going to lose my shutter finger that night. When it thawed, I was in SO much pain. But, I’m ready to go back! We LOVE that place.
